Preparing for Coming of Age...

On Thursday the 3rd of December I went to Tate Modern with Sarah
for a meeting. We met other artists from intoart and Heart n Soul to talk about the seminar day that we doing in January on the 21st. The event called Coming Of Age its about looking to the future and what Corali would like to do in the future.

I met Chris Brierley, James Thompson, Mark Williams and Danny Smith. They are from Heart n Soul.

And I have also met Clifton Wright, Ntiense Eno Amooquaye
and Ella Ritchie and they are all from intoart.

Update...November

I am going to write an update for the Corali blog about
The things that we do in Corali.

Recently we have been to a Private view Exbition at Truman Brewery 0n 29th of October 2009 it was very good it was interesting to see other artists’ work from Project Volume.

Also, we did a Performance Lab at the Truman Brewery on Thursday 5th of November 2009 as part of the training programme that we did over 2 weeks in October 2009. The Training programme was called Visual voices and that was about making dances with Choreography Scores - your own scores that you made yourself and to give people so they can respond to them.

Also we have been to Mary Rose School in Portsmouth on Monday the 9th of November 2009 we have been leading 5 workshops we did 2 workshops in the morning, 2 in the afternoon with the students and then in the end we did a Twilight session with Teachers. On Saturday 14th November we led another workshop at Michael Tippet School as part of their parent engagement day.

Step Up Opening Event

On Monday the 16th of November 2009. I went to the Magic Eye Theatre in Peckham with Hannah and Jo it was the STEP UP AND TELL FESTIVAL it was there Opening Event and there were 3 short Performances and also there was food and drinks, it was good. I enjoyed the performances I thought it was good. I enjoyed the tap dancing Performance, it was interesting and loud but good.

Welcome to Corali Dance Company's Blog!

Welcome to our first Corali Dance Company blog. I am going to write about the things that we do in Corali and also the things that we do in the office aswell. Corali does lots of things, like rehearsals, doing performances. At the moment we are doing a Training Programme called Visual Voices. We do all of those things here at Oval and in different places, like Sadlers Wells. I enjoy doing all of these things and they help me to learn to new things. Visual Voices Training Programme is where you choreograph your own dances and I made a solo with my choroegraphy score. Sometimes we go on tour to different places.

I am a part time Corali Voluntary Office Assistant. I work in the Corali Office on a regular basis. Every Thursday afternoon I work in the Corali Office with Georgie Cockburn. Sometimes I work with Sarah Archdeacon but not all the time she has other commitments she has to make and sometimes she has meetings with other people.

With Corali we normally go meetings like Arts Council meetings, the AGM, Disability Arts Consortium meetings. I normally go to one of these Meetings with Sarah Archdeacon or Georgie Cockburn and I get support from them.
